Today I’ve been having a busy day – how about you? Time to fit in some crafting goodness though I hope
I’m heading back to my craft zone when this is posted too, for more fun I hope. I need a rest from this morning’s household chores, grocery shopping and sorting out eBay stuff!
So here’s a card I’ve made for today’s Sketch-On-Saturday idea – SOS#30. First the sketch…
Another goodie of a sketch to add to my file
Here’s a little something that I was inspired by, from my Pinterest ‘Colour inspirations’ board’ when thinking about something for this card:
I’d pinned this from Julie Kirk’s blog, notes on paper, recently, as just one of her fabby Purple Phase inspiration palettes. This one with purples with neutrals like kraft and string appealed. See…?
I rotated the sketch and used my Papermania doily stamp, embossing with American Crafts Zing ‘Metallic Purple’. Otherwise its fairly similar to the sketch except I added a scrap of purple punched border (Fiskars Daisy edge).
I layered linen twine and lilac seam binding (The Ribbon Girl) for the slightly shabby bow, and trimmed down an American Crafts ‘Bits’ ticket in the same neutral & pale purple palette (win!)
A few gems and a sparkly faceted brad (ancient Pink Paislee, I think?) polish it all off.
In other random news:
1, Can’t wait for Strictly Come Dancing tonight. I reckon Anita might be out this week. Shame – she has been a real ‘game bird’, as the saying goes. I was favouring Jason for the trophy but now am thinking Chelsee might be giving him a run for his money. Sorry, can’t warm to Harry. Good dancer and all that, but his personality just isn’t there for me. It can’t all be about a good body y’know. Who’s your fave(s)?
2, Looking forward to getting a new hob fitted in the kitchen this week. I swear this has been something I’ve wanted for a long time, and now it’s finally going to happen I feel like putting the bunting out. Or maybe making a card (or two) to celebrate. Ha!
There now, off to the craft corner to get creative – see you soon.
Thanks for visiting as ever friends, Rx
