So hope you are well today.
Here’s another card – just coming in under the deadline wire I think!!! – for a challenge over at the Papertrey Paperdolls blog….
It’s to create a card featuring fruit, and also using a sketch: Papertrey Paper Dolls 47.
Well, I don’t have any of the PTI Fruit Fusion stamps (wish I did!) so I had to think about the fruit approach first really how I could ‘make my own’ fruit element and looking together with all my PTI stamps, it struck me in a revelation to make a tomato pincushion from felt and combine it with my Button Boutique stamps in a sewing-themed design.
So I found a sketch that incorporates a button card-shaped element and a round tomato element (which *is* strictly a fruit of course!).
I had this sketch in my bookmarks, one from Mojo Monday. It’s Mojo Monday 182 and I rotated it 90degrees to suit my design.
Here’s my card:
I layered up my card with dresspattern-effect paper from October Afternoon ‘The Thrift Shop’ 8x8pad, and stamped a cute button card using Papertrey Ink ‘Button Boutique’. I thought it would be fun to build a button card on the horizontal instead of more typical vertical style, and it fits the rotated sketch this way. I used a burgundy ink for a vintage look, a bit of masking and I added Distress inking for an aged feel, then sewed on three pink buttons.
A bit of lace trim and a fancy pin finish off.
I love how this turned out.
Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon, Rx
