I haven’t been able to enjoy much time for crafting this week Or blogging or blog reading for that matter. Poop.
Time to rectify that today…. but first I am sharing a card that I made a few days ago for a friend and colleague who has gone to visit central and southern Africa, on a sabbatical from work, to travel and do charity work.
So I didn’t made it with a sketch in mind today, but I like the layout so have added to my sketch collection as SOS45. Will be using it as inspiration for another card i think (that one is still ‘brewing’, up my sleeve… will have to wait and see what happens with that idea)
Anyway here is the sketch Sketch-On-Saturday SOS#45
Very appropriate for the African theme, no?!
I have a cube stamp, by Judikins, of African scenes ‘African Safari’ (6727I) - I never imagined when I bought it that it would ever be so perfect for a card-sending-occasion as this one!
The images are stamped in brown onto cream card in keeping with the colours of the environment and I softly added watercolour washes to accent the images.
I chose three of the cube images to layer onto the card front (along with papers from My Mind’s Eye ‘Stella & Rose’ 6x6pads, Hazel and Gertie).
And stamped in burgundy a mini die-cut greeting (Papertrey Ink ‘Tiny Tags’) tied with brown Divine Twine.
The fourth image of the cube adds a matching accent inside the card:
Bye for now, I am off to experiment with this sketch idea again for another card I need to make!
