Birthday balloons – Papertrey Ink card challenge

Hi all
Hope you are well and have been having some fun crafty time?

I have been doing quite a bit of stitching this week, so not had any cards to share – here’s one though for the current challenge at A Passion for Papertrey – Inspired by…

I was inspired by the fact that we’ve had plenty of hot air balloons floating past our house this week – Bristol sees a lot of them, and especially since the prevailing wind carries them our direction! The summer evenings are perfect for ballooners…

Anyway, despite not getting a decent photo myself (I will try again next time I have my camera charged up and handy!)… this summery Pin-spiration will show you what I mean:rainbows and sunshine
And here’s my card…

I used a tape-strip of glitter (channeling my inner Melissa Bickford for this one!) and the Tim Holtz/ Sizzix sunburst embossing folder, adding colour with sponging a couple of Distress Inks (Scattered Straw, Tea Dye).
Can’t believe this folder has been lurking in my stash unused til today. What was I thinking?

I stamped the balloons from the ‘Up, Up & Away’ set, paper piecing with some scraps and adding extra colour with fineliner pens…. the stamped sentiment is from the same set, and I cut it into a banner and added a MME enamel dot.

That’s all for today – I’m off back to the crafty den for a little more fun!
Thanks for stopping by folks, Rx
