Hope you are well… We are still baking in our heatwave here, so this morning I thought I’d make a Christmas card – haha, how’s that for logic!!!
I spotted a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin – Christmas in July, and Clearly iStamp – Christmas in July CiSC3, so here’s my card…. I need to try and keep up the festive momentum if I won’t have squillions left to make in Decemeber:
I dug around in my Christmas scraps file to find this vintagey paper by Authentique and added a glittery scalloped border sticker from Doodlebug for sparkle. My stamping on the diecut Nestie label 4 ‘Very Vintage Labels 4′ by Waltzing Mouse Stamps, in burgundy red, and also a poinsettia from Hero Arts.
It’s one of my favourite ideas for Christmas stamping, to make my stamps ‘go further’ – using this sunflower stamp (discontinued) in red ink to make a poinsettia!
I used the rock-and-roll inking method to create depth in the petals, so a light red (Scarlet versacolour) then adding darker red ink to the petal tips (Burgundy Versacolour).
A few black pearl gems (Papermania) in the centre, and fussy cut it and pop up on foam pads for a fun festive focal point, layered on some fabric leaves.
A rub-on greeting (ancient Americn Crafts) and white gel pen doodling finish it all off!
With a little left-over paper and more pen, I decorated the envelope to match
Hope you enjoy! We’re having another barbeque later to still make the most of the lovely weather. Hope maybe for some more crafty fun this afternoon though, if I get my chores done.
See you laters, alligators! Rx
