Mojo restart – birthday card

Hi all, hope you are doing well?
Since I got back from our wonderful holiday, I’ve been on rather a mojo go-slow… maybe the hot weather? Maybe as I’ve been doing more cross stitching instead? Maybe also due to the fact that my craft desk has turned into a bit of a dumping ground and tidying it up is very uninspiring!! Ah well.. I did manage to make a little space to make this card for my very dear friend who’s celebrated her 40th this week.
She and her hubby are hosting a joint 40th party tonight, so we’ve booked a B&B and will be letting our hair down, pretending we’re all back in our university years again, methinks!

Here is the card I made for her, anyways, which I’ll be entering into the following challenges:
Tuesday Throwdown – #205 Handmade flowers
Ladybug Crafts – Summer Flowers

Birthday card idea stamping flowers WPlus9 Fresh Cut FloralsAll very happy and smiley… the paper is a bit of leftover (hoarded) American Crafts – good to be using this up at last!
Plus there’s lots of lovely layering: die cut scallopy circle and circles (Nesties), with Waltzing Mouse circle Label stamp ‘Faux Fun Circles’, before of course the showstopper bouquet made up of various stamped flowers from WPlus 9 ‘Fresh Cut Florals’.

It makes me very happy to do all this multi-step stamping and layering them, popped up with foam pads to make a pretty arrangement.
All finished off with a few gold sequins and gems, to echo the gold-layered greeting sticker…

Luckily, my mojo is back now then! Jump-started too by a very excellent day of card making at my local SU demo’s house, last Saturday.
Amy, of White House Stamping, was running the first of her Christmas in July workshops, so I had to indulge ;) Will share the cards I made, over the next couple of days – they are stunning, if I say so myself. But really the inspiration is all Amy’s… her class was great fun!

See you laters alligators, Rx
