Cutting Edge bouquet

Hellooo ;)
Well our Bank Holiday outing to the races today was a bit of a war of attrition – the rain did not stop, all day, from as soon as we got up… so, although it was nice to see our pals again, it got pretty waring to be out in the deluge for so long!! (I had a budget for my bets, and happily decided to quit while I was ahead and not get so far as to lose any more, and came away with money in my purse still. And we all decided to leave early, rather than stick it out til the bitter end! I think everyone was pretty soggy and in need of thawing out our chilly bones!!)
So, I am weary and just taking a bit of time to relax the evening away before an early night- quick chance to share a card I made this morning for the Pretty Pink Posh Cutting Edge Blog Hop – TOO FUN TO MISS, or what?!!!

Plenty of fun multi-step stamping and diecutting, with my beloved WPlus9 ‘Fresh Cut Florals’… so much fun to cut lots of blooms and stamp them in all pretty shades of the rainbow, then build them up into a lovely bouquet…. See..

blog hop card inspiriation die cutting FreshCutFloralsI have been making steady progress with my craftden clear-out too, so made sure only to use up scraps of papers for this one – even the ribbon was a scrap and the label base for my blooms (Nestie label 1 diecut and embossed ;) ) – scraptastic! YAY – so that means I only have another gazillion scraps still to use!! Er,… not so yay. Ah well, a little progress is good progress.

Here’s a closer look at those flowery beauties – what’s not to like?

Furry friend – just saying hello

Hi there crafty pals, how’s tricks?
Good I hope! I have been doing a little more creating in the craft den this week (YAY!) – I’ve actually been feeling a bit under the weather this past week, headachy and the like, so a self-imposed ban on screen-use after work (sorry, it means I’ve not been visiting your blogs too much, but it has been a relief not to be using the computer all day, and then lots of the evening too!) Instead… crafty time!

Here’s a card I made to enter into the new Tuesday Throwdown challenge #209 – Furry Little Friends

I have lots of animal stamps, but I don’t think this little foxy friend has ever seen ink (“I know?” <she said, in best Friends‘ Monica voice> What was I thinking?!!). He’s from the Lawn Fawn set ‘Critters in the Forest’ – I love so many of their adorable criters sets, but I just have to set myself some limits, otherwise the floorboards will give way, IYKWIM. I am trying to have a bit of a craftden clearout at the moment as the stash collection is starting to get  is already well and truly, out of hand. That’s a whole other story ;)

Anyway, I digress.. the cuteness of that foxy – yes, isn’t he so sweet? – coloured with pencils (I didn’t watercolour or blend too much, to try and get a nice texture finish to the fur.) Then fussycut and layered on Nesties labels 4 ;)

A bit more stamping… the designer background ‘Fabulous Flourish’ by Hero Arts on some patterned paper from my scraps box, plus embellished with plenty of sequins, a button and a fancy stick-on fabric rosette, which was by Papermania ages ago.

Thanks for stopping by crafty pals!
We are off to have a relaxing Bank Holiday weekend (including a day out at the races on Monday, which should be fun!) and hopefully a spot more crafty time in the mix too ;) Have a good weekend yourselves! Rx

Christmas jewels – bauble beauties!

Hello all
Here’s another of the cards I made at Amy’s Christmas in July class a couple of weeks ago…

All the materials are SU, again, and I am loving the rich colour scheme used with gold accents for this one…

Christmas card inspiration SU StampinUp baubles vellum

Mmmmm…. A little vellum… the photo frame die… those rich baubles (what great detail! I had to succumb and order the stamps ‘Ornament Keepsakes’ and die set as a result!)….. plus it all looks so festive finished off with gold sequins and a little gold twine ;)

Hope you likey… thanks for visiting, for your comments and emails as ever! Until next time, Rx

Wedding chic – card idea

Hi there
As ever, a busy week for us… Here’s a card I’m popping by to share though, which I made this week for a lucky couple we know getting married.

I’m enteringthis into the challenge over at The Card Concept – #16 wedding card….

The colour palette in the inspiration pic doesn’t fit with the scheme of the happy couple that I know, so I have just been inspired by a table setting… the cake table!
And Clean and Layered is the style I’m going for with this one…

A few details for you then:
The  pre-made card blank, pearlised and with ‘wedding day’ greeting, is by Craft Creations (though I can’t see it on the website, sorry)…. I made the cake from paper strips, dry embossed (the folder is Craft Concepts ‘Garden Swirl’ – looks fab as cake icing too!) and corners rounded…
It’s layered onto a doily die cut from vintage book print (die by Papermania)… the sentiment is a die cut Spellbinders ‘Ribbon Tags Trio 3′ and stamped with a WMS sentiment ‘Say it with Style’… ribbon and pearls added ;)

SU cards- Christmas in July

Hello crafty pals,
So it may already be August (phew, where is the time going?!!) but I wanted to share some fab festive cards I made recently…

I had a great time a couple of weekends ago at a Christmas in July workshop class, hosted by my local Stampin’Up demo pal, Amy White of Whitehouse Stamping.
We made 4 stunning card designs… 3 of each, so that means a great boost to my festive card stash!! Here’s the first of them to share with you, then I’ll post the others over the next few days, so be sure to stop by for more inspiration! (All materials are Stampin’Up.)

Christmas card Stampin'Up diecutting stamping

I really love this card… well, I love all of them really – my fave changes every time I look at them all together, but today this is my fave. It uses SU ‘Lovely as a Tree’ set to create a wintry landscape, on this shaped card – which I rarely make.

The ovals dies are perfect for this, and I love the details like the piercing around the edge, the glittery snowbank and the silver punched layering for the sentiment, which reminded us all on the class of a metal hardware effect ;)

I’m inspired by these challenges:
Twisted Tuesday – A Christmas Forest in July #2TC81
Sisterhood of Crafts –  Dies and/or Punches

Back with more Christmas in July fun soon, Rx
